Flash Grants - $1,000 for your Queens Business

Sometimes you just need a little bit of extra cash. Your AC went bust in the middle of summer. Your menus haven't been updated in a decade. Your awning has become the home to the local pigeon population. But margins are tight – who has the extra money lying around to fix these things?

Applications for this round of Flash Grants are now closed, and winners will be announced soon. Thanks to our friends at Maspeth Federal Savings, we're giving out $1,000 to five Queens small businesses to help solve these nagging little problems.

This program is remarkably easy – by September 30, just tell us in a single paragraph how you'd use the money. Then, a couple of weeks later, we'll pick five winners and send them a check. That's it.

Semi-Fine Print:

All applicants must complete a standard QEDC client intake form and one-paragraph pitch by 11:59 PM on September 30 to be considered for funding.
Businesses must be currently operating or have imminent plans to open in Queens. Home-based businesses from Queens residents are eligible.
Only businesses are eligible. Non-profits, government entities, political organizations, and private individuals are ineligible.
Winners will be selected at the sole discretion of QEDC and Maspeth Federal Savings. Applications do not guarantee funding.
All applicants agree to receive communications from QEDC and Maspeth Federal Savings about this initiative and other programs/offers.
Applicants agree that, if they are selected, QEDC and Maspeth Federal Savings may use their name, description, and relevant imagery in marketing and communication related to this program.
