A business must have a Laundry license if it washes, dries, starches, or irons clothes, household linens, or other washable fabrics for the public or, if self-service or otherwise, the public may come to the business to wash clothes or other fabrics whether by automatic or coin-operated machines.
Before you apply for a license, it’s important to have the following:
- Employment Identification Number
- Applicable Business Certificate depending on your business’s legal structure
- Certificate of Authority to collect Sales Tax
- Copy of your Surety Bond, properly signed (bonding companies)
Once you have obtained the necessary documents, you must print out and complete the following forms:
- Child Support Certification Form
- Laundry License (Basic License Application)
- Facility Inventory Form
- Granting Authority to Act Affirmation
