Michael Gillen

Director of Technology, Communications, and MiQ

When it comes to technology, Michael Gillen is our man. He comes to QEDC with years of marketing, website development and social media experience. At QEDC he is responsible for the business services department’s website maintenance, social media, and press outreach. Having worked as an editor, social media consultant, and website designer, Michael now uses skills from each of those positions in his work at QEDC. A graduate of Vassar College with a BA in English with a minor in Japanese and a graduate of Baruch College with an MA in Corporate Communications, Michael is helping the QEDC communicate more effectively.

In addition to being responsible for QEDC’s workshop newsletters and social media, Michael Gillen is the point person for grant-writing and reporting, including data collection and analysis. Facebook. He is QEDC’s webmaster, the architect and administrator of QEDC’s appointment system and is in charge of our Website Development Education program, Signature Bank First Investor program.

While working at QEDC, he has instituted a new client intake system, secured new grants for QEDC and has run programs in English and Spanish.
