About the Speaker

Warner King Babcock is a founder and the CEO of the NYC Family Enterprise Center and is a member of the Board of Trustees. He is a Family Firm Institute Fellow and National Association of Corporate Directors Governance Fellow. He has been a family council member, family business CEO, board member, shareholder, and a trustee of family trusts controlling family businesses. He has also advised other family businesses and family members since 1985. More recently, he was an Adjunct Professor at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, teaching Family Business Management and an MBA course – Boards, Governance and Leadership with Entrepreneurial and Family Firms.

Prior to teaching and founding NYCFEC, he founded and led two businesses for 20 and 24 years, which he merged in 2011. Since then, he has focused on education, new forward thinking initiatives, and publishing to assist family enterprises, family offices, family members and their advisors. Earlier in his career, he built a manufacturing company from the R&D stage based on his patented inventions. He is also a recipient of several philanthropic awards.

Over the past few years, Mr. Babcock has been devoting the majority of his time voluntarily to build NYC‘s first family enterprise center, as a nonprofit community for NYC-area family enterprises and their family members, board members, management, shareholders, trustees and key constituencies, who desire to learn a comfortable, confidential, convenient and customized manner with the help of a very experienced faculty, staff and board.

Mr. Babcock currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises, Inc. and has served on the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship Advisory Board at Baruch. He has served on the Board of several companies, ventures and non-profits.
