Neighborhood Development

The Neighborhood Economic Development Division at QEDC works to stimulate private investment by encouraging the active participation of community based groups in the implementation and management of commercial revitalization initiatives. We are committed to revitalizing depressed communities, creating jobs, improving physical conditions and stimulating private investment on neighborhood streets.

We provide technical assistance to merchant associations and local development organizations with strategic planning and implementation of physical improvement projects along selected commercial corridors. We help assess an area's current economic conditions, identify areas in most need of improvement, provide recommendations that improve a community's aesthetic appeal, structure a capital improvement budget, and coordinate with the appropriate city agencies to execute streetscape and facade improvements.
