Queens Taste

May 2, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$125

Try delicious food, network, and learn the winners of the StartUP! Business Plan Competition!

On May 2, 2017, we expect more than 60 restaurants, beverage purveyors, and dessert makers to provide samples of their products to at least 700 attendees. It’s Queens, so diversity will be on display from first bite with everything from creamy to crunchy, fiery to flaky, and savory to sweet. Astoria’s Sabor de Cuba will probably offer shredded beef with plantains, while Zenon Taverna might give away haloumi and octopus. The Nest, a Guyanese/Trinidadian eatery in Richmond Hill, usually dishes out curry, jerk, and BBQ chicken, and Bayside’s Bareburger should bequeath beer-braised bacon with stout onions on a mustard pretzel bun. So delicious!

Proceeds support the Queens Economic Development Corporation‘s ongoing efforts to attract, create, and maintain jobs in the borough through business services, neighborhood development, the Entrepreneur Space (our food-and-business incubator), and marketing attractions through the Queens Tourism Council and the It’s in Queens and Discover Queens brands. As QEDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, proceeds are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Queens Economic Development Corporation and Queens Tourism Council will host Queens Taste 2024 at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on Tuesday, May 21, from 6 pm to 9 pm.

We expect to attract more than 500 attendees with 50 restaurants and beverage purveyors, who will offer samples of their products. Thus, attendees will be able to bounce from table to table, tasting treats from tangy to fiery, crunchy to velvety, and sweet to briny.

Queens Taste is also a celebration of the borough -- and a great way to network. Almost all the anticipated 500 attendees either live in Queens or do business there. Many are executives and captains of industry. The atmosphere is always festive, almost giddy, creating an ideal scene for meeting and greeting.
