The purpose of this training course is to provide the initial steps and foundation to starting your business plan. The following topics will be covered:

  • Developing a mission statement
  • Planning for your Business
  • Conducting research on market, industry, and competition.

Please bring a pen and pad in order to take notes, and be ready to ask questions only pertaining to the content presented. For more in-depth and specific information, please consider scheduling a one-on-one counseling appointment.

El entrenamiento para Contratista de Reparación y Mejoras del Hogar es de 3 sesiones (20, 26 y 27 de Octubre; desde 10 a.m. hasta las 04:00 p.m.) que prepara tanto a los participantes para obtener la licencia para los contratista de reparación y mejoras del hogar de la cuidad de Nueva York y ayuda a los participantes a dar su solicitud de licencia. El costo de la matrícula es normalmente de $200; sin embargo, este curso será gratuita gracias a la generosa donación de la Comunidad de Desarrollo de Citi (Citi Community Development). Choose Your Own Contractor Information Session

The NYC Build It Back Repair - Choose Your Own Contractor (CYOC) program allows NYC homeowners affected byHurricane Sandy to select the contractor of their choice to perform a variety of home repairs.

Contractors will need to meet eligibility requirements to participate. They must:

  • Be selected by a qualifying homeowner to perform repairs
  • Have a current Home Improvement Contractor license from NYC DCA
  • Have the experience and resources to perform or subcontract ALL of the work in the program(including structural elements, interior finishes, utility and service equipment, and environmental remediation)
  • Have a satisfactory record of business integrity with New York City DCA, DOI, and DOB
  • Comply to the program terms, specifications, and pre-determined unit prices
  • Obtain at least $250,000 in bonding
