QEDC Free Small Business Tax Workshops sponsored by the IRS Business Income and Expenses This free seminar will benefit established small businesses, those getting started, and individuals anticipating going into business. Schedule C (Form 1040), Profit or Loss from Business (Sole Proprietorship), will be used as a reference tool during the workshop. The presenter will cover different kinds of business income, including gross receipts, bartering income, rents, and cancellation of debt, and explain how to account for them on the the tax return. The attendees will learn about various deductible business expenses, such as costs of goods sold, business start-up costs, depreciation, car and truck expenses, entertainment and gifts, and business use of your home. This workshop is a real opportunity to get answers to a variety of tax questions about small businesses.
