Home Improvement Contractor Training Course Orientation Session

QEDC will offer Mandarin-language workshops to immigrant home improvement contractors who want to take the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs licensing exam. The lessons will be accompanied by one-on-one business advisory services, such as consultations on permits and licensing, business development, procurement and access to capital.

During this orientation session, participants will be getting more information on the QEDC's Home Improvement Contracting License Course.

The workshop focuses on helping participants to develop their business idea, organize their start-up processes and create a strategy to launch their business. It also covers key elements of business start-up process including financing, registering the business, licenses and permits and tax related issues to help entrepreneurs properly set up their company and avoid missteps that can cost them time and money.

Home Improvement Contractor Training Course - Group 1 Saturday, March 10, 17, and 24

QEDC will offer Mandarin-language workshops to immigrant home improvement contractors who want to take the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs licensing exam. The lessons will be accompanied by one-on-one business advisory services, such as consultations on permits and licensing, business development, procurement and access to capital.

During this training course, participants will be getting the necessary preparation to become a Home Improvement Contractor Licensed.

The first group for this training course will be meeting for three consecutive Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce of America: 136-20 38th Avenue, Suite 10i, Flushing, NY 11354.

Home Improvement Contractor Training Course - Group 2 - Sunday, March 11, 18, and 25

QEDC will offer Mandarin-language workshops to immigrant home improvement contractors who want to take the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs licensing exam. The lessons will be accompanied by one-on-one business advisory services, such as consultations on permits and licensing, business development, procurement and access to capital.

During this training course, participants will be getting the necessary preparation to become a Home Improvement Contractor Licensed.

The second group for this training course will be meeting for three consecutive Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce of America: 136-20 38th Avenue, Suite 10i, Flushing, NY 11354.

Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC)  presents the  "Developing a Business Contract" workshop at the Entrepreneur's Space.

In this workshop you will learn:

- Different Legal Contracts for business purposes.
- Learn to identify, do's and don'ts of what to include in a business contract.
- Identify appropriate parties involved in a business contract.

 Minority/Women Business Owned Enterprise Program (M/WBE) Orientation

The workshop will cover Government Procurement opportunities for M/WBE's, qualifications for M/WBE certification and how to apply for M/WBE certification.

This workshop is done in partnership with the Queens Chamber of Commerce
