The Equation

QEDC Room G110, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Guest Speaker: Omar Tyree

Omar Tyree, a New York Times bestselling author, entrepreneur, and filmmaker simplifies the universal principles of all successful enterprise as Love (L) for a particular trade, product, or service, where the Art (A) of competition, excellence and creative value matches the winning efforts of Support  (S), gained through effective marketing, promotion and sales that eventually produce the income, reinvestment capital and productivity of an ongoing Business (B).

Tyree states "There is no simpler way to explain it. All successful businesses execute these same four components all around the world." This ground breaking formula of L / A * S = B will clearly illustrate how first-generation millionaires and billionaires-old and new-were able to become wealthy, while building the enterprises and companies that continue to inspire and fascinate the world.

in his own efforts of entrepreneurship, at age 23, Tyree jump started the genre of contemporary urban fiction, which now earns a healthy share of a more than $300 million dollar a year industry of African-American publishing.

Tyree generated more than $30 million himself over a 13-year relationship with Simon & Schuster, publishing 14 of his 16 novels.

Increasing Productivity by Personalizing Your Business Technology

QEDC Room G110, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Guest Speaker: Ellen DePasquale, Technology Trainer

The decision to purchase and implement any technology is based on specific needs. Whether it is accounting, sales, marketing or administration, business technology is “employed” to do a “job”. So, is it? Is your technology doing the job it is supposed to be doing? Implementing certain software and hardware solutions have gotten the job done; accounting software issues invoices and checks, word processors allow us to write and edit letters, and printers create documents, labels, and envelopes. But could they be doing it better? Could they be doing more?
